Out of Status

What happens if you do not comply with these regulations? If you do not comply with these regulations, you will be considered “Out of Status.” That is not a good thing. The Director will need to end your program of study in the United States, and you will be required to leave the U.S. immediately. You might have the option to apply for “re-instatement,” which costs over $300 and there is no guarantee that your request to be re-instated will be approved. Therefore, it is best to follow the regulations and avoid falling out of status.
