Host Family Program

Are you interested in getting to know the Hilo community and a family in the local Hilo community? Our Host Family Program matches international students with families in the community to help you learn more about Hilo, the Big Island, and Hawai’i, as well as develop a “second” family here while you attend UH Hilo. Host families do not provide a place to live; you meet with them occasionally throughout the year for things like a home-cooked meal, trips around the island, shopping, and other fun and interesting things to do on the Big Island. If you are interested in requesting a host family, please fill out the form and submit it electronically (you will need to log in using your UH email account). We will try to match you up with a host family within the first few weeks of the semester.
