Health Insurance
Health insurance is very important to have in the United States because the cost of medical care, even simple medications and treatments, is very high. Even a single visit to the emergency room or a stay at the hospital can cost thousands of dollars, so it is very important to have adequate health insurance.
Unlike other countries, the U.S. government does not pay for medical expenses for most people. Each individual in the U.S. is responsible for his/her medical expenses. Most people buy health insurance or get health insurance through their employer. If a person in the U.S. has health insurance, the cost of medical care is usually lower than if they do not have health insurance.
