Some of the things you will be able to do during Orientation include:

• Move in to your on-campus or off-campus residence
• Meet other students from your country and from around the world
• Get your required TB test
• Get your UH Hilo ID card
• Talk to an advisor about class registration
• Register for classes or make changes in your class schedule
• Buy books for your classes
• Buy items you need (such as sheets, cell phone, etc.)
• Open a bank account
• Get a tour of campus
• Learn about campus services and resources such as the Library, computer labs, tutoring, etc.
• Find out about how to apply for a job on campus
• Learn about safety on campus
• Get health insurance if you do not already have it
• Learn about student clubs and opportunities for interships
• Get a Social Security number (if you are from one of the Compact of Free Association nations or if you get a job on-campus)
• Get a tour of Hilo
