Some of the things you will be able to do during Orientation include:
- Move in to your on-campus or off-campus residence
- Meet other students from your country and from around the world
- Get your required TB test
- Get your UH Hilo ID card
- Talk to an advisor about class registration
- Register for classes or make changes in your class schedule
- Buy books for your classes
- Buy items you need (such as sheets, cell phone, etc.)
- Open a bank account
- Get a tour of campus
- Learn about campus services and resources such as the Library, computer labs, tutoring, etc.
- Find out about how to apply for a job on campus
- Learn about safety on campus
- Get health insurance if you do not already have it
- Learn about student clubs and opportunities for interships
- Get a Social Security number (if you are from one of the Compact of Free Association nations or if you get a job on-campus)
- Get a tour of Hilo
